Gary is a licensed psychotherapist serving in a variety of contexts and populations. He has earned two Masters Degrees, one in Biblical Studies from Abilene Christian University and another in Clinical Psychology from Sam Houston State University. He has over 25 years of experience with adolescents, families, college students, singles and single-parent families in churches, schools, community centers, psychiatric settings, Christian camps, and urban shelters and relief centers. Gary has led groups providing help for persons experiencing disadvantages, trauma, abuse, neglect, exploitation, abandonment, the fatherless, homeless, various crises, and other “wounds” of life. He is a mentor, teacher, speaker, and facilitator for groups, addressing a variety of mental, emotional and spiritual health issues.
He has served for years as a professional counselor for ministers and other Christian leaders, ministry conferences, other helping professions, settings for care givers, and non-profit organizations.
Gary serves as a minister with the Prestoncrest Church of Christ (Dallas), leading the various singles ministries for all ages and life stages. He also provides counseling for the church and for people with other churches in the region. Gary served in youth and family ministry for over 20 years and continues to help lead camps and other programs for children and teens.
Gary serves as a supervisor of LPC interns, having been approved by the State of Texas.
