    Kristina is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Registered Play Therapist. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education with an early childhood endorsement from Abilene Christian University and dual Master of Arts degrees in School and Professional Counseling from Amberton University. She taught six years in the public school system before entering the counseling profession in 2008. Kristina counsels individuals, couples, and children in her private practice setting. She is a member of the Association for Play Therapy.

    Kristina has completed training on Trust-Based Relational InterventionĀ® (TBRIĀ®), developed by Dr. Karyn Purvis and Dr. David Cross at the TCU Institute of Child Development, an emerging family-based intervention model especially designed for children who have experienced relationship-based traumas such as institutionalization, multiple foster placements, maltreatment, and/or neglect. She has served as both director and clinical director for Camp Erin Dallas/Forth Worth, a weekend-long camp experience for children and teens who have experienced the death of someone close to them. Kristina is a trained facilitator in the PREPARE/ENRICH couples therapy program, which allows for counseling tailored to each couple’s relationship.

    With her education and experience, Kristina brings a wide range of knowledge to families and children going through many different areas of struggle. Kristina sees clients ranging from age two through late adulthood. She provides play therapy for children; individual therapy for adolescents, teens, and adults; family counseling; and both marital and premarital couples therapy.

    Kristina’s fees for counseling are based on a sliding scale. She is in network with Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Texas insurance and provides documentation to file out-of-network with other insurance companies. Please refer to the new client intake forms for detailed information about fees, policies, and procedures.

    Premarital Counseling Special:

    • $520 for 8 sessions with a licensed professional counselor (or $65 per session)
    • $35 online assessment/curriculum fee paid directly to Prepare-Enrich
    • Certificate for discounted marriage license given after 8 sessions through the Twogether in Texas program
